JICA-Net Multimedia-based Learning Materials Sample Activities[JICA Tsukuba; Previous learning in the training course of 'the method for sustainable environmental-friendly agricultural extension for regions of Latin America']

To be a help for objective understanding

During two months between June to July in 2016, JICA Tsukuba implemented a training course of "the method for sustainable environmental-friendly agricultural extension for regions of Latin America". The course was not long-term agricultural training for technical acquisition, however in the same time it had to be achieved the purpose in the limited term, we indicated trainees to learn the materials previously before coming to Japan.

Some training participants said previous learning via the material was able to grasp what is the theme of training, and to be a help of increasing motivation. Roberto from Costa Rica told us with showing his memos he made when he watched the movie, "Not only Japan's but also my country's case is introduced in the material, I was able to find out my interest much more. Moreover, there are a lot of knowledge I didn't have, then I learned many things from it. It is a good reference I think."

Trainees told they wanted it to use the material for reviewing in self studying, or showing to the farmers in their activity areas after they go back to their countries. Not only in previous work, also in reviewing, the material is a useful for them.

" The ABCs of PCM "

JICA encourages many of the training participants to make an practical action plan and take concrete actions based on the plan after returning their home countries. This video introduces an outline of the PCM (Project Cycle Management) method, which is one of the tools to analyze problems, implement and evaluate projects, to the training participants. It is expected to be used for preparation before the training in Japan as well as review afterthe training.
